Why you should do Capacity Graph? When you should?
Already we
know How to make capacity graph of a production line in earlier post. By the capacity graph one can easily
find out-
- How many areas have problem can
easily trace.
- Who are working with low & high efficiency
- Is lines are properly balanced?
- Potential output.
We can say,
it’s like a mirror to the supervisor. To maximize the production of a line,
there is no alternative way except hourly target monitoring.
Actually when a new style is loaded to a line, operators
take time to reach their maximum target as well as maximum speed he/she can do.
Normally operator takes higher time to stitch a garment when he/she starts
working on a new style. Machine mechanics also take time to setup machine. There
have an issue of achieving quality point also asking by the customer. Every
operator of each operation first has to understand the process with quality and
then start work.
That’s why when
a new style/product is loaded to a line, it reaches to maximum output after 3/4
days.
Now question
is when I should do Capacity graph?
Is it on the
very first day of new style setting?
Or 2nd
day of production?
Or on 3rd days?
Although on day 1,to ensure plan production achievement as per Learning Curve, work study officer will start capacity study.
- To
prove target is achievable
- To
find where to develop (on low efficient area).
On 2nd
day also again need to check capacity & do the same like previous.
Finally on 3rd
day, must have to make capacity graph & take sign from supervisor &
above production concern person.
If there any
capacity issue, work on that & solve immediately.
